Arima Onsen, nestled in the mountains just north of Kobe, is one of Japan’s oldest hot-spring resort with a history of more than 1,000 years. Loved by emperors, samurai, and poets, it offers two unique mineral waters: “Gold” springs rich in iron and salt, and clear “Silver” springs containing soothing radium and carbonate.  Arima is a perfect escape to soak in healing waters, enjoy seasonal cuisine, and experience timeless Japanese hospitality.

Being the only guest on the tour during my visit, I was able to immerse into the experience deeply and have a remarkably unique experience. Aligned with my personal work, Akiko cleverly customized the experience for what I was seeking.
